This time of year always evokes memories of my grandma, and her selfless giving. My grandma carried Christmas in her heart every day of the year. Whether a neighbor in need of a meal, a friend in need of encouragement, or a lonely elderly man or woman in need of friendship, my grandma was there to lend a hand. I miss her and continue to be inspired by the way she led her life. I saw Jesus in her, and pray that in my own life others will see Him in me as well. Thank you grandma...I love you!
Happy New Year!
Susan
Sharing my thoughts on everyday happenings in everyday life. A place to vent, inspire, write my heart, and hear yours. Oswald Chambers once said, "We aren't meant to be seen as God's perfect, bright-shining examples, but to be seen as the everyday essence of ordinary life, exhibiting the miracle of His grace. The routine of life is actually God's way of saving us between our times of great inspiration which come from Him...learn to live in those common times of life by the power of God."

It's snowing!
It's snowing! The first snow of the season, and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in South Parker-town! We now have about 4-5 inches, as we always get more than most of the state. A great morning to enjoy hot tea and banana bread!
I was reading a moms blog I recently discovered, and as it is a blog for moms of boys, her stories made me laugh out loud. A few of her entires evoked memories of days gone by with our two(now grown) boys. Every minute of every day cram-packed full with sports, school activities, and unexpected interruptions...I loved it!
Our youngest son, Zach, is now attending the Colorado Film school and is living at home. It's been so gratifying to see his talents and skills in cinematography gaining recognition, and although he just turned twenty-two(when did that happen?!) the little Zach still shines through, especially now that Christmas is approaching. He has always been our Kevin from Home Alone, and still shows such excitement when I begin to decorate the house (inside and out) every November! His powers of observation are very astute, and if I've forgotten to pull-out some decoration or item, he's quick to remind me....I thank God that some things never change!

Cruisin' with Susan...

If I had a v.w. bus, this would be it! We could all go cruisin' together , play 60's rock and roll, and stop by Dairy Queen for a medium twist cone! Sometimes in this hectic-paced world, I find myself yearning for simpler days; before the internet, before text messaging and black berries...you know back to the days when people actually called each other, or wait for it....actually talked face to face! "I'll meet ya' on the corner in ten minutes...and we'll talk."
Too many distractions to real communication.....I miss the human voice.

Don't you just love the fall in Colorado? The air smells like football, and the leaves in my backyard remind me of a Charlie Brown movie. I'd love to hear from you....really!
Yep...Still crazy after all these years...
